National Night Out. This event occurs annually in the city of Santa Maria in
an effort to allow local law enforcement to partner and build a rapport with
the community. Approximately 1,000 local businesses and patrons
                                               attended.

addition, various local businesses provided food samples for the community
                                               to enjoy!

The attendees were able to walk the event while listening to music from
various entertainers. Participants also enjoyed a performance of the
                                               National Anthem.

Senior Deputy Probation Officers Leach and Haro were able to speak with
the community about the Probation Department’s role as a County agency.
The most enjoyable part of the evening was passing out games and toys to
the youth. The Girls Scouts of America requested a photo with the officers
and provided a thank you poster along with Girl Scout cookies, to show
their appreciation for what the Probation Department contributes to the
                                               community.
